Bold-Decisions is operated by Mads Wildgaard, and founded in 2015. The foundry is operating from Amsterdam and Jeju-Do, South Korea.
The initial idea of BD is to develop typefaces that are interesting to us and allow ourselves to let them mature while keeping them close, as they are inevitably extensions of ourselves. From rainy days to sunny days, these typefaces have been worked over and over to the initial point where we’re happy to release them and see someone else make a beautiful design. They all continue to be reworked until we don’t know when, to optimize technical details, and to adapt to our own developing and fleeting aesthetic preferences.
The catalog exists in a range of typefaces, from Sans to Serif and from display to text. Some work better for text, and some work better for display, but inevitably it’s up to you to use them in new ways. We present in-use cases from time to time on our Instagram account.
The foundry also makes custom typefaces for a wide range of clients, like Jo Malone London, A1 Telekom, Google & LCD Soundsystem, Vogue CZ, and many cultural clients, like the Werkplaats Typografie and de Appel Amsterdam. We develop fonts in Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and Hangul.
